Dosage & Usage
What should I mix myGloh with?
Simply mix with water or milk! We've found 1 scoop/4oz of liquid to be our sweet spot.
We love mixing ours into smoothies and yogurt, too!
Don't mix with hot drinks as the heat degrades the bioavailability of the colostrum. Mix with room temperature or cold products.
What is the best time of day to take myGloh?
Anytime that fits best into your daily routine.
Can I mix with coffee?
Iced coffee, yes! Hot coffee, unfortunately no. Mixing with hot drinks ruins the bioavailability of the colostrum so make sure to mix with room temperature or cold liquids.
Colostrum
What is Colostrum?
Colostrum is the pre-milk produced by mammals after giving birth. Its yellow color lends to its nickname "liquid gold", as its the first nutrition we receive in life and is dense in the essential nutrients and antibodies our bodies need.
How is colostrum different from milk?
Colostrum is the "pre-milk" produced by mammals within the first 24-72 hours after giving birth. It is thicker than regular milk and yellow in color. Colostrum is replaced by something called "transitional milk", before the mammal ultimately produces the "whole milk" that we're most familar with.
How is bovine colostrum different from human colostrum?
Human colostrum consists primarily of igA, one of the most common antibodies in the body. Comparatively, bovine colostrum contains high concentrations of IgA, as well as immunoglobins IgG, IgE, IgD, and IgM. Immunoglobins are key to our bodies' immune systems and protect against bacteria and infections.
Bovine colostrum also contains less lactose than human colostrum.
How is colostrum helpful for humans?
Colostrum is a superfood, dense in vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and antibodies. It is best known for its profound impact on gut health (it's been dubbed a gut superfood) and its immunological impact.
We almost feel silly listing all of colostrum's many benefits in fear of sounding embellished, but colostrum truly is a superfood with unmatched nutritive benefit. Colostrum has been shown to reduce inflammation, aid in muscle recovery, promote bone health, boost brain function, and reduce allergy symptoms. It has been found that colostrum significantly improves skin and hair health - making it the perfect all-natural addition to our self-care regimen.
Does colostrum contain dairy or lactose?
Yes, colostrum contains dairy and lactose so we don't recommend anyone with dairy allergies or intolerances take myGloh.
Can I take colostrum with other supplements or medications?
There are no known harmful interactions between colostrum and other supplements or medications. It is always recommended that you consult your healthcare provider if you have any questions or concerns about possible interactions.
Where is myGloh colostrum sourced from?
All of our colostrum is sourced from dairy farmers here in the U.S.
Are calves impacted by humans drinking colostrum?
At myGloh, we live by a “Calf-First Promise”. This means that the farmers we partner with only gather colostrum after the newborn calves get what they need. Cows produce much more colostrum than their calves can consume, so the extra colostrum that’s collected is what makes up myGloh Colostrum supplements.
